THE PICS head to Nantwich Town on Saturday determined to move into the top half of the table after recording a sixth victory in seven games on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 win against Buxton.
They face a Nantwich side that has also recovered from a slow start to the campaign and now sit in tenth spot, two places and two points above us.
“We’ve set some high standards recently and I want to see us maintain these,” said manager, Liam McDonald. “It will be another tough test for us on Saturday but we’ll go into it with confidence following Tuesday’s win.
“The lads responded superbly to the set-back in our previous game and showed tremendous character to get the victory.
“It wasn’t pretty but we dug in and worked hard for each other to get our reward. Now the aim is to break into that top half of the table.
“We’ve given ourselves a foundation on which to build.”
Our hosts played out a goalless draw at high-flying Warrington Town on Tuesday evening. They have won seven of their 20 home League games this term and beat The Pics 4-1 at Dales Lane in the League in September, whilst we gained revenge with a 2-0 FA Trophy victory over them at the end of October.
