The Pics

09 August 2018

THE TALKING is over and after a highly productive pre-season, The Pics go into the new season in the newly-formed Evo-Stik League South Premier Central.
There are some mouth-watering fixtures ahead and it all gets underway at Dales Lane on Saturday with the visit of Banbury United (kick-off 3.00pm).
“I’ve been really pleased with our pre-season both in terms of our results and the work that the lads have put in during what have been difficult conditions,” said manager, Liam McDonald. “We’ve set some high standards against good sides and it is nice to see us go into the new season with a winning mentality and plenty of confidence.
“It’s going to be an exciting season. We’re really looking forward to the challenge that stands before us; there are some big clubs in this League and we can’t wait to pit our wits against them.
“We’re under no illusions about the task in hand, but I am happy with our summer recruitment to add to what we already have here.
“It will be a big test for our club both on and off-the-field. We’ve set our own targets and we will be doing all that we can to achieve them.”
The first test comes in the shape of Banbury United who finished ninth in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division at the end of last term.
“We have had them watched and I know that they have a good, experienced footballing manager at the helm in Mike Ford who will have his team well-drilled with a good mix of power and pace,” added McDonald. “We will be looking to make home advantage count and get off to a winning start.
“I can’t stress enough how important it is for everyone to stick together, that’s players, staff and supporters. The fantastic togetherness that exists here is going to be vital for us this season.”
We urge as many of you as possible to come along and show your support.
The club will be starting the Share The Love scheme this weekend whereby any season-ticket holder at one of the West Midlands’ ‘Big Five’ clubs – Walsall, Aston Villa, Wolves, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City – will be able to get £2.00 off admission for our home League games on production of your 2018/19 season-ticket for your club at the turnstiles.
Come and enjoy local, grassroots football at its finest at a friendly, forward-thinking club.
