IT'S seven wins from the last eight games after The Pics battled out three more points at Nantwich Town with a 2-1 triumph.

"It was a bit of a battle," admitted manager, Liam McDonald. "It was two teams who have been in good form recently going head-to-head and it was always going to be a tough one for us.

"But we weathered the early storm and went on to score two great goals to take the points.

"It's fair to say that it wasn't the prettiest of games to watch, but it's three more points to our tally and we're getting in to good habits now.

"We're able to win in different ways. We have the technical players who can play good football and we also have the big, strong lads who will roll their sleeves up and battle it out.

"I have told the lads to be proud of that as it gives us a foundation on which to build.

"We'll rest up now and be ready to go again on Tuesday against Matlock Town. We've played them recently so we know it will be another tough one.

"It's going to be about what we do on the day and if we can maintain these high standards, we'll be okay."
