Match Report

THE PICS' youth team faced a tough fixture at Dales Lane on Monday night against a dangerous Ellesmere Rangers side.

During the first half it was obvious that Ellesmere had come with the intention of gaining all three points. Rushall were stretched by the away sides impressive movement but coped well. There were chances to take the lead for both sides but at half-time it was somehow deadlocked.

Rushall made a slight change to their tactics for the second half and it helped control the midfield, allowing them more possession in key areas.

With both teams pushing for a winner, finally after a great build-up, Kadeem Brown intelligently linked with Simeon Paisley, who fired home his strike from 20 yards into the top corner. Rushall could have scored more, Ellesmere would have equalised but for the superb work ethic of the entire team.

The youth team are still yet to concede a goal at home this season, which kind of says it all and warrants the success they have been earning, week after week.

It was important to bounce back from Wednesday's FA Youth Cup exit on penalties. They now find themselves a single point from the top of the Premier Division North, with a game in hand.
