Match Report

RUSHALL Olympic ended the season with a 2-1 victory at local rivals, Halesowen Town.
The first opening fell to former Rushall man, Mo Diop who fired over for the hosts early on before Ben Clarke also went close for the home side.
It was a Halesowen Town free-kick in a promising position that led to the opening goal for Rushall on 15 minutes as the defensive wall blocked Daniel Bragoli’s effort before Stan Mugisha was played through on the counter-attack and he made room for a low strike into the bottom corner.
Long-range efforts at both ends from Lewis Probert and then Clarke went close to adding to the scoring.
With 28 minutes on the clock another free-kick on the edge of the area for the hosts saw Nathan Walker lift the ball inches over the crossbar.
There was a great chance for Rushall on 40 minutes when Mickael Partodikromo led a pacy break before linking up well with Aaron Forde and then firing over from in front of goal.
The visitors were left to rue the miss with virtually the last kick of the half when Andre Johnson found the net to level matters.
Rushall started the second period brightly and almost regained the lead when Mugisha took advantage of a slip in defence by Jay Denny to find Marcus Jackson whose effort hit the crossbar.
The goal that The Pics had threatened came on 69 minutes when some neat play on the edge of the area ended with Partodikromo feeding Craig Bannister who lashed the ball home beyond the reach of Dan Platt.
As the home side pressed for an equaliser, Rushall stayed solid to frustrate their efforts and end the season on a winning note.
