Match Report

RUSHALL Olympic slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Buxton in a game played in thick fog.

It was The Pics who fashioned the first chance as Aaron Forde’s low strike was pushed away by the ‘keeper and as the home side launched a counter-attack, Bradley Grayson was played through and he rounded Jose Veiga to slot home the opener within the first minute.

A neat move by Rushall ended with new signing, Karl Hawley, picking out Forde in space just outside the area again with 20 minutes on the clock but he fired just wide of the target.

The conditions were making the game difficult for both sides. A cross to the far post saw Joel Bembo-Leta go close for Buxton, whilst Nicky Walker brought a save out of Veiga with a low drilled effort.

Right at the end of the opening period, Alex Reid went on a run which ended with his strike being well saved by Jan Budtz.

The opening exchanges of the second half saw Veiga do well to deny Bembo-Leta as Jazz Luckie headed over at the other end.

It was the home side who doubled their advantage on the hour-mark when Nicky Walker was allowed to advance before firing home with a low strike.

The third arrived to complete the scoring as Grayson fired home but in fairness the conditions were making a mockery of the game.
