Match Report

TEN-MAN Rushall Olympic brought home a point from a 1-1 draw at Marine.
It took a while for both sides to get used to the blustery conditions.
With the home side starting to see more of the ball in attacking situations, they thought they had taken the lead on 18 minutes only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.
The Pics’ first chance came on 22 minutes when Henry Eze headed just wide from a free-kick on the right before shortly afterwards, Eze picked out Alex Reid who cut inside and got in a powerful strike that was deflected inches wide of the target.
It signalled the start of a spell where Rushall began to ask a few more questions of the home defence, with Reid in particular looking lively, but genuine goalscoring opportunities remained at a premium as it remained goalless at the break.
The second half was just two minutes old when Billy Smart lashed home the opener for Marine from distance but The Pics were not behind for long as Marlon Walters side-footed home a beauty on 51 minutes to level matters.
Rushall were reduced to ten men with 20 minutes to go when Zak Martin was given a straight red card for a foul inside the opposition half.
The ten men almost grabbed a winner when a free-kick was pumped into the Marine area and Joel Kettle dragged his effort wide from a good position, whilst Smart went close for the hosts.
