Match Report

Rushall Olympic grabbed a late equaliser to share the spoils with a Walsall XI in a match that ended 2-2 at Dales Lane this evening.
After an opening 15 minutes broken up only by a couple of long-range Walsall efforts and an injury to the visitors’ Sam Tonks, it was a well placed finish by Jordan Sangha that gave Walsall the lead on 20 minutes.
Rushall came into the game more after that and, after two decent efforts by Danny Waldron, Joe Hull was on hand to smash home for the Pics from a Liam Lawrence cross on 38 minutes.

The second half started in very much the same vein as the first, with neither side able to create any clear cut-chances.
Walsall did have the ball in the back of the net on 58 minutes through a Cameron Peters header, but the linesman’s flag denied him and Walsall the lead. That lead came, however, barely a minute later as Peters was in the right place to stab home after a Walsall shot deflected into his path just yards from goal.
After a period of pressure from the Pics in the dying minutes, they grabbed their deserved equaliser with a header from one of several trialists on show. The home side nearly pinched a dramatic winner shortly after, with Dominic Dell going close with a low shot.
