Match Report

After the disappointment of Thursday Staffs Cup Semifinal exit. Rushall travelled to Evesham for the league cup quarter final.

On arrival it was really pleasing to see that Utd's facilities were in usual beautiful shape, giving hope for a good game of football.

The starting 11 were briefed on roles, duties and responsibility before the game, a professionalism and maturity was required to bounce back from a bad set back.

A great first half performance was to follow, starting on the front foot with excellent passages of play that were very threatening. The Pics finally got their reward when Jack Squire delivered a precise free kick, for Ryan Brookes to head home a wonderful towering header, to give the away side a deserved lead.

At the break a couple of changes were made just to freshen up. It was important to continue to press and not sit on a precious lead. Although not scoring more goals, Rushall looked a very organised committed side that would have been really hard to beat by anyone. It's a lesson learnt the hard way, but this is the example and the bar that has been set.

Although it was truly a win as a unit of all 16 players, special mentions have to be given to Ben Grice for carrying out instructions perfectly, Simeon Paisley for a dogged influential midfield performance, lastly to Ben Cadwallader on his debut which was literally inch perfect.

Very pleasing as a whole but, must be as good or better in the next game.
