Match Report

After again playing a game following a week with no football, Rushall made the trip to Newcastle Town for a MFYL fixture.

Pre match plans were clearly laid out but just simply weren't adhered to. The home side looked lively and organised, whilst Rushall were very slow out of the blocks, failing to play any kind of attractive or penetrating football, which is very disappointing.

Newcastle on the other hand were the opposite, easily scoring 2 goals and earning a dominant 2-0 lead at the break.

Half time was a chance for The Pics to refocus, which they did. Better football was instantly evident and the away side started to look finally threatening. To give credit to the substitutes, they came on and added desire to the side and improved the game.

Chances went begging at both ends and the game finished 2-0. It was pleasing to see an improvement and a clean 2nd half sheet, but giving yourself a needless mountain to climb in football is always going to hamper you, unless your lucky, you have to earn your luck in Stoke, as years of experience have always told us.
