LUKE BOTTOMER

An exciting right sided midfielder with great tenacity and dribbling ability, he returned to Dales Lane during summer 2016 to begin a fifth spell with the club after spending the 2015-16 campaign with neighbours Romulus. A local lad, in March 2011 he was surprisingly released by Coventry City's Academy and joined Worcester City after the second year apprentice was told he would not be getting a new contract with the Sky Blues, despite an impressive season for City's U-18's. During the close season of 2011 he attracted interest from Halesowen Town, Cheltenham Town and the University of North Western Ohio (USA), but Coventry City U-18's Player of the Year for season 2010-11 eventually ended up on trial at Tamworth. After signing contract terms with the Lambs, August 2011 saw him link up with Solihull Moors, where he featured in Conference North football. He had previously linked up with the Pics during January 2012 after being released from his contract by Conference National neighbours Tamworth, having initially arrived at Dales Lane during September 2011 on a loan deal from the Lambs and impressed greatly during a 3 month spell. During summer 2012 he made a surprise return to Tamworth after being offered contract terms, but following a loan spell with Stafford Rangers during September 2012 he was later released by his parent club and in October 2012 Hednesford Town moved quickly to snap up the creative player. However, in December 2012 he transferred back from the Pitmen for a third stint at Dales Lane, before being released and linking up with Stafford Rangers during February 2013, helping them to Walsall Senior Cup success against Walsall FC. However, summer 2013 saw him reurn to Dales Lane for a fourth spell when he re-signed from Stafford Rangers. October 2013 then saw him leave Dales Lane once more and this time linked up with Leamington, only to move on to Chasetown in January 2014 and then Rugby Town just prior to the March 2014 transfer deadline. A return to Chasetown followed during summer 2014, before rejoining Stafford in September 2014 and then Romulus in February 2015.
