RUSHALL Olympic made it two wins in a row with a 3-1 victory over Barwell.
The Pics burst out of the blocks and within the opening minute, Josh McKenzie had a chance as he took the ball around the ‘keeper only for the visitors to get men back to clear.
The opening goal arrived on nine minutes when some sharp play from Rushall ended with Mikael Partodikromo getting in a strike that was blocked by the ‘keeper and Alex Reid was on hand to turn the rebound home from close range.
As the visitors started to get into the game, a deft header from Liam Kay following a corner crept just wide.
Rushall doubled their advantage just past the half-hour mark when another corner was delivered invitingly into the danger zone and Sam Whittall was on hand to power his header home.
Clear-cut chances were at a premium early in the second period, but the third goal arrived on 63 minutes when a long ball from Dean Keates found Reid whose teasing cross was headed home at the far post by Stan Mugisha.
The visitors pulled a goal back on 72 minutes as Declan Towers stabbed home from close range following a goalmouth melee.
Despite a late flurry from Barwell, they failed to add to their tally as the game ended in a 3-1 victory for The Pics.
