A GLEN Taylor hat-trick gave Spennymoor Town a commanding 5-1 victory over ten-man Rushall Olympic at Dales Lane.
The Pics fell behind with just two minutes on the clock when a poor back-pass from Jordan Fitzpatrick was seized upon by Mark Anderson who made no mistake to open the scoring.
The home side refused to let their heads drop and managed to build up a head of steam as the half progressed.
Some neat play ended with Joel Kettle seeing his effort on the turn saved and from the resulting corner, Henry Eze found the net to level matters.
Spennymoor regained the lead just before the half-hour when Glen Taylor found space in front of goal to direct his header beyond Jose Veiga.
The visitors were able to extend their advantage on 36 minutes after Eze was penalised for handball and Joe Tait stepped up to fire home from the penalty spot.
It didn’t take the visitors long after the restart to add to the scoring when Taylor headed home from a corner and shortly afterwards there was more woe for The Pics when Eze was dismissed for his second yellow card.
There were loud appeals for a Rushall penalty waved away as Reid appeared to be hauled back as he chased the ball following a mistake by the ‘keeper.
Spennymoor made it 5-1 with nine minutes to go when Taylor found himself in plenty of space to complete his hat-trick and secure a resounding win for his side.
